I love tea parties, as childish as that sounds. A delicious cup (or maybe cups) of tea enjoyed with a few close friends, topped off with scrumptious finger foods is an afternoon well spent. I grew up with a love of hot tea; tea was the remedy for just about anything. If you had a sore throat, have a cuppa tea. If you were cold, have a cup of hot tea. If you had a bad day, have a cuppa tea. Cut your arm off, cuppa tea. Lost your mind, you might find it floating in a nice hot cup of tea. Tea is the secret of life, or so I have been led (willingly) to believe.
With Easter fast approaching and spring here, I wanted to put together an elegantly boho tea party. I needed a boho tablescape that was simple, easy to set up, and just as easy to clean up. I also wanted it to be fresh and inviting, with just enough color to chase away those winter blues that keep hanging around. My current dishes and mugs were not exactly going to help me achieve the aesthetic and mood I was wanting to create, so I headed on over to one of my favorite places to shop. World Market. World Market is packed full of wonderful global finds at amazing prices, so I knew they would have what I needed. I found all the perfect pieces I needed to make my boho tablescape tastefully simple, elegantly boho and sure to impress.
I already knew I wanted my color scheme to be pinks, golds, and blues, so shopping was quick and easy.
I found lovely aqua Spinwash dishes, that when paired with round natural fiber placemats, set the perfect stage for those little cucumber sandwiches I have been craving. Dipped Reactive Glaze mugs with gold handles would hold our teas of choice and taupe patterned napkins would keep our fingers clean. AND clean up that inevitable tea spill that is bound to happen. AHEM KAREN! Gold flatware will compliment the blue dishes while also tying in the gold handles of the mugs. To complete the look, the Gray Diamond Amari Runner will grace the center of the table, topped off with a fresh bouquet of flowers and pink glass lanterns. The star of the party, the tea kettle, is a gorgeous, simple ivory enamel pot with gold accents, perfect for tying the table scape together AND keep our tea water the perfect temperature.

And that is it! Simple, quick and easy! This elegantly boho tablescape can not only be used for tea parties, but also for Easter brunch, your best friends birthday dinner, or late night dinner with your love! Simple set up, simple clean up, more time to spend with your love ones or finish that hot cup of oolong.
